Introduction
The University of Suwon's Department of English Language and Literature Department aims to address students' real needs by inculcating the relevant acquisition and mastery of the English language in a multi-strategic exposure that uses evidence-based knowledge and techniques. Courses at the Department, which have been strengthened by the professor's educational background and experience, will redound to students' holistic personality development and academic and/or professional competence.

Profile
Dr. Ian Done D. Ramos completed Doctor of Education major in English Language Teaching (Ed.D. ELT), Master of Arts in English Major Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL), Special Education Major in Learning Disability (Sped LD), and Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English (BSEd-English).
With the 17-year experience in the English language teaching, Dr. Ramos has full understanding on how teaching-learning process works to support language needs of individuals. Most of his training foundations taken at Silliman University, the oldest American university in Asia, and some Philippine institutions have influenced the shape of his professional activities in South Korea and his home country. At present, he teaches English language and literature courses (both graduate school and undergraduate programs) under the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Suwon, South Korea.
He is very much interested in Language Curriculum and Materials Development, Language Assessment and Testing, Teaching Methodology, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Sociolinguistics, and Educational Research. He has authored books and research papers. He has also presented various papers at domestic and international academic conferences and published them across the globe.
Besides teaching, he is the Immediate Past President of the Seoul KOTESOL Chapter in South Korea. His monthly tasks are to evaluate materials of all native speakers who wish to do a workshop and to organize the professional event for teachers nationwide. In the past, he worked as a school's Laiason Officer to the Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines. Part of his job was to examine, prepare, and transact immigration documents of foreign students who studied English.
