Description and Objectives
Fall Semester 2018
The English Logical Statement course explores student's schema while applying the principles of paragraph and essay development for textual analysis and genre moves of various essays with proper documentation. Graduate school students will develop their documented essay topics with highly logical organization of thoughts and sufficient information to build up knowledge and skills in writing. Producing their well-written outputs will make them become more critical and reflective, creative, and competent in any writing and revision/editing challenges.
By the end of the course, students will have:
1.employed good planning and organization of writing;
2.sharpened knowledge and writing skills from writing paragraphs to various types of documented essay;
3.supplied personal insights with external sources without committing plagiarism; and,
4.increased interest and commitment in carrying out well-documented outputs.

Grading
Grading is done on a curve. It means only the very top 30% of students can get an A/A+ grade, the next 40% only can get B/B+, and the lowest 30% will be awarded C grade or lower. You are competing against each other. Grade distribution: 30% - midterm exam; 30% - final exam; 40% - class standing which includes tests, attendance, and class behavior.
