Teaching English to graduate school students is not just an easy undertaking; it takes one to be creative and resourceful in bringing in the theories, teaching models, and principles into real context where the students have encountered in their respective teaching experiences or language exposure.
The University of Suwon's Department of English Language and Literature now offers courses that prepare students to obtain teaching and communicative competence, curriculum and materials development skills, and self-awareness on refining attitude, behavior, and learning styles. These courses are the following: 1) Advanced Writing Composition, 2) Analysis for Prose and Composition, 3) English Logical Statement, 4) Practical English for Educators, 5) Research of Educational Textbooks, 6) Research on English Language Teaching (ELT) and Culture, 7) Seminar in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), 8) The Basics of Educational Research Methodology, 9) Theories of English Language Teaching (ELT), and 10) Writing Process: From Critical Essay to Basic Research.
The English language training at the graduate school will direct students to process the whole coverage of each course for a semester. Both the professor and students will follow the weekly class activities by achieving the set of objectives with the materials being used. Class details will be recorded to keep track students' amount of learning.
